Privacy Policy

What Parrot collects, why we collect it, who helps us process it, and how to have it deleted.

Effective October 24, 2026

Parrot (parrotaisearch.com) is operated by Socially Inc. (“we”, “us”). This policy explains how we handle information when you use the website, run a free check, create an account, or contact us. Questions or requests: jv@getsociallyapp.com.

What we collect

  • Your email address, when you create an account or sign in. We use it to send sign-in links and to identify your workspace.
  • What you tell us about a restaurant: the name, street and city you type, and details we look up from public sources (its website, address, neighborhood and cuisine).
  • Results Parrot produces: the questions asked, the answers AI assistants returned, which restaurants they named, website checks, review counts from public pages, diagnoses, and drafted content, plus your approvals and what you publish.
  • “Talk to us” form details: name, email, company, role, number of locations and your message.
  • Technical information: our hosting provider records standard request logs (such as IP address, approximate country, browser type and the pages requested). For abuse limits we store IP addresses only as a salted one-way hash, not in readable form.

We don’t ask for payment details on this website, and we don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Cookies

We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in. We don’t use advertising cookies, analytics trackers or third-party pixels. Signing out removes the session from that browser.

How we use information

  • To run the service: free checks, scans, diagnoses, drafted fixes, and pages you choose to publish.
  • To sign you in, keep your workspace private, and apply your plan’s limits.
  • To reply when you ask us to contact you, and to send service emails (sign-in links). We don’t send marketing email without your permission.
  • To prevent abuse, such as limiting how many free checks one visitor can run.
  • To improve Parrot, including combining scan results across many restaurants into de-identified statistics (for example, which kinds of websites AI assistants recommend more often). These statistics don’t identify you.

We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it for advertising.

Who sees your data

Your workspace’s restaurants, scans and drafts are visible only to people signed in to that workspace, and to the Parrot team when needed to operate and support the service. Some things are public by design:

  • Pages you approve and publish (such as a hosted FAQ page) are public and meant to be read by people and search engines.
  • The summary of a free check (how often a restaurant was named and who was named instead) can be seen by anyone with its link. The full answers are only shown to the account that claimed it.

Service providers

We use these companies to run Parrot. They process data on our behalf, only to provide their service:

  • Vercel (website hosting and request logs)
  • Supabase (database and sign-in)
  • Resend (sending email)
  • OpenAI, Anthropic and Google (we send them the questions and public restaurant information needed to get and read AI answers; we don’t send your email address)
  • Firecrawl (reading public restaurant websites)

We may also share information if the law requires it, or with a successor if Parrot is reorganized, merged or sold, under this policy.

How long we keep it

We keep account data, restaurants, scans and drafts while your account is open. Free checks that no account claims, and rate-limit records, may be deleted after a period of time. “Talk to us” messages are kept while we’re in conversation with you and for our business records. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your personal information within 30 days, except what we must keep by law. De-identified statistics may be kept.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your information, or to close your account, by emailing jv@getsociallyapp.com from the address on your account. Depending on where you live (for example California or the EU/UK), you may have further rights, and we’ll honor them as the law requires. We won’t treat you differently for using them.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, each workspace’s data is only available to its signed-in members, and sign-in uses one-time email links instead of passwords. No system is perfectly secure, so please sign in with an email address only you control.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top, and for significant changes we’ll tell signed-in users by email or on the site. See also our Terms of Service.
